The Value of A Silver Ticket

The Lion Ate the Clown

Asset-Backed Performance Documentation
(aka Stamps)

I have created a series of commemorative stamps from of my performance documentation. This project extends the exploration of value that I am conducting with my Silver Ticket Project.

My stamps are actual United States postage in denominations available from "postcard" to "first class" all the way up to the "priority mail" rate. I hope in the future a "forever stamp" will be available.

Send your mail addorned with images from your favorite performances or collect and trade them with your friends.

While, to my knowledge, the US Postal Service has never made a statement in support of performance art or my work in particular, I like to think of this project as a something of a partnership, with the Post Office being the very silent and monolithic partner.

Imagine a future of postal workers and performance artists holding hands as they walk through your neighborhoods, delivering mail and singing a perfromance art song in gibberish.

I can produce these stamps thanks to the wonders of the Internet...in this case a company called Zazzle.com. The stamps a created on demand and shipped to you by Zazzle. There are no limits to the number of stamps that can be produced and so there is no serialization or limiting factor to any particular image unless I remove it in the future. They exist as very simple commodities for the moment. (I will write more about this in the future.)

I am currently able to offer Silver Ticket Owners a discount on these stamps. See the Silver Ticket Discounts page for details.

The stamps to the left are just a few examples of what is available, and I will be adding more in the future. Click on any of the stamps to the left to explore my marketplace.

If you have any comments or suggestions feel free to email me.
