Best Man was a performance response to a series of paintings by Caroline Picard which take their imagery from photos a wedding reception. I framed the Rebuttal show's reception as the reception for the wedding ceremony of Caroline's paintings and my work.

The performance was in three parts...a greeting and hug at the door, a best man's toast to the couple (the second of a series of three oratories I had been performing in Chicago) and then a CD memento of several potential telephone calls in which the relationship between our work ends.
