"I have a lion's head..."

Musicircus @ the MCA

On Sunday September 25th, 2005 the Chicago Composers Forum coordinated a production of John Cage's Musicircus at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

I presented several renditions of a 15 minute oratory in three parts, which was intended to convince the audience of a lion's head on top of my head.

Part 1: In which I describe the lion's head.

Part 2: In which the diet of the lion head is explained.

Part 3: In which the lion's head is ennobled.

The piece took place against the backdrop of the MCA's exhibition of works by Dan Flavin. The environment was a dissonant whine of hundreds of performers filling museum.

Jeff Harms assisted me with my roaring.
