MCA Chicago's presentation of Birdbrain Dance

Yellow school buses took the audience from the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago to the Calumet Open Space Reserve for site specific performances by Birdbrain Dance and graduate students for the Columbia College Chicago.

Tour guides provided historical and ecological background during the bus trip, the audience watched performances, participated in a "navigation" workshop, and had a light meal.

A panel discussion at the Chicago Cultural Center on "Urban Living: Sharing the Streets with Wildlife" featuring Jennifer Monson, an internationally renowned dancer/choreographer; Kimberly Worthington, a Deputy Commissioner at the Department of the Environment; Doug Stotz, one of the Field Museum’s conservation ecologists; Jerry Garden, the former president of Chicago Audubon Society , Mary van Haaften, Natural Areas Manager for the Chicago Parks District Department of Natural Resources; as well as local activists and environmentalists.

Birdbrain Dance also performed in the city of Chicago at Wrigley Square in Millennium Park and at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
